Every Soul a Star by Wendy Mass

wendymass.jpgHello everyone! In honor of the recent solar eclipse (leave me a comment if you saw it!), today’s post is for Every Soul a Star, a novel by Wendy Mass featuring (you guessed it!) a solar eclipse! In case you didn’t know, the first post that I ever wrote on ReadingWayPastBedtime, was about another book written by Wendy Mass called 11 Birthdays. You can click here to view my post for 11 Birthdays. (Please excuse my many typos on that post!) I have enjoyed reading books by Wendy Mass for years now, so you may have seen her name on ReadingWayPastBedtime before. Anyway, I'd say it's time to get started! Are you ready? Here….. We…… goooooooo!

Every Soul a Star is a novel from the perspective of three kids, Ally, Bree, and Jack. 12-year-old Ally and her family live on the Moon Shadow Campground, a place that studies astronomical occurrences. Ally loves the campground, and she can’t imagine her life any other way. With an eclipse coming up, Ally is doing all she can to prepare the campground for the many many guests they are going to be hosting! Until she hears the news...

13-year-old Bree on the other hand, is a gorgeous model wannabe. Soon to find her big break and become the star she has always wanted to be. Bree is accustomed to her life in the city, and she doesn’t want anything about it to change. Ever. But then, she hears the news…

Then there’s Jack. 13-year-old Jack is overweight, awkward, but has serious artistic skill. When Jack fails science and has to go to summer school, he is as unhappy as one can be. Who wants to go to summer school? Then, he gets his chance…

In Every Soul a Star, one extraordinary eclipse brings these three kids together to all become a part of the same story. I thought this would be a great recommendation because of the solar eclipse the other day (which was pretty awesome from what I heard!) and I hope you enjoyed it!

I would recommend Every Soul a Star to anyone who likes realistic fiction, astronomy and, in this case more specifically, ECLIPSES!

Stay tuned for more awesomeness,

Greek Girl
